About Me

My photo
Alice Liles
I grew up in Rosenberg, Texas, rode horses, married Bill in 1965, earned a Bachelor of Science degree at Texas A&M University, had a daughter and a son; earned a Master of Education degree at University of Houston Victoria; taught English, reading, and even coached a little for 31 years before retiring. I am now focusing on my list of things to do before I die. So far I have been able to check off several things on that list: opened a small cactus business; finished two marathons; served as state president of Texas Classroom Teachers Association; traveled to Africa and summitted Mount Kilimanjaro; have sold some photography; and have had some articles published. I have stood on a glacier in Alaska, cruised through the Panama Canal, toured Mexico, toured England, enjoyed Hawaii, ridden in hot air balloons, have visited most of our western and southern states, and can't wait to see the others. Now I look forward to more travel, writing, grandchildren, gardening, and photography, not necessarily in that order.
